The proofreader corrects and ensures consistency of spelling (British or American English, depending on which is specified above in the Format section), grammar and punctuation, and the format of sub-headings, bibliographical references, tables, figures, etc.
If no style guide is supplied we correct references to the style that is prevalent in the document and to ensure continuity. We do not reduce documents to within the word limit and we do not revise the format of references in a document, for example, from in-text citations to footnote references or numbered references.
Your document is proofread using the ‘track changes’ function of Microsoft Word. This is a standard function installed in most versions of Microsoft Word. This function allows you to move easily between changes and accept any or all of the modifications proposed by the proofreader. Corrections, suggestions and comments are shown in the right-hand margin and are easy to accept into your document.
When we have finished proofreading we will return two files to you: a tracked version and a clean version of your proofread document. The tracked version is named yourfilename_tracked_version and the clean version is named yourfilename_clean_version. Using our previous example these would be: Andre_Carpenter_02072024_tracked_version and Andre_Carpenter_02072024_clean_version.
Large institutions and universities often face challenges when it comes to managing their budgets, particularly towards the end of a fiscal year when unspent funds cannot be carried over into the next year. One practical and efficient way for these organizations to utilize remaining budget allocations is by purchasing store credit in bulk and distributing it across multiple accounts. This system provides both financial control and flexibility, making it a highly effective tool for budget management.
When universities or large institutions purchase store credit for proofreading services, they can allocate it to specific departments, projects, or individuals without needing to issue physical credit cards or process individual payments. This credit can then be used by various account holders within the institution to access our proofreading services. By doing this, the institution gains more oversight and control over how its budget is spent.
How Store Credit Benefits Budget Management
Many universities and institutions operate their budget planning on a yearly cycle. Often, as the year comes to an end, they may find themselves with unspent funds that need to be used before the budget resets. For instance, if a university has £10,000 left in its budget with only two weeks to spend it, store credit offers a convenient solution. Rather than rushing to make purchases that may not align with immediate needs, the institution can purchase £10,000 worth of store credit and distribute it across various departments or accounts for future use of our proofreading services.
This flexibility prevents unnecessary or rushed spending and allows departments to use the funds more effectively when the need arises. Store credit can be distributed across multiple customer accounts, ensuring that each department or individual can manage their allocated credit based on their specific needs.
By purchasing and distributing store credit to access our proofreading servces, institutions retain control over how the funds are used, ensuring they align with the institution's priorities. The store credit can be assigned to specific accounts that may not have access to traditional purchasing methods, such as credit cards. This is particularly useful in academic environments where not every department or project may have the authority to make direct purchases.
Advantages of Store Credit in Academic Settings
Once the proofreading credit is applied to individual accounts, users can simply utilize it to access the proofreading services they need without requiring further approval or processing. For instance, if the institution uses the credit to purchase proofreading services, departments or students can redeem the credit whenever they need the proofreading services without needing to worry about securing additional funding. This smoothens administrative processes and saves time, as purchases no longer require multiple steps for approval.
The primary advantage for institutions is the control over budget spending. Proof-Reading-Service.com’s store credit ensures that money allocated to specific departments or purposes remains in the university’s ecosystem, used according to plan rather than being lost in rushed, last-minute purchases. This leads to better financial planning and more strategic spending.
