Service Agreement

By submitting payment, you acknowledge and accept the following service provisions.

Scope of Proofreading

The proofreader will correct and ensure consistency in spelling (British or American English as specified in the Format section), grammar, and punctuation throughout the document. In addition, the proofreader will review the formatting and consistency of sub-headings, bibliographic references, tables, figures, and other structural elements included in your work.

Style and Formatting

If you do not provide a specific style guide, references will be corrected according to the style most consistently used in your document, to maintain coherence. Please note that we do not reduce documents to meet word limits, and we do not convert referencing systems (for example, changing in-text citations to footnotes or numbered references).

Proofreading Method

Your document will be proofread using the Microsoft Word “Track Changes” feature. This ensures full transparency and allows you to:

• review each modification with ease,

• accept or reject individual edits, and

• view comments, suggestions, and corrections clearly displayed in the margin.

Files Returned to You

Upon completion, you will receive two versions of your document:

Tracked version: a file containing all edits, comments, and suggested changes (e.g., yourfilename_tracked_version.docx).

Clean version: a fully proofread file with all changes accepted (e.g., yourfilename_clean_version.docx).

Certificate

Official Proofreading Certificate

Upon request, we can provide an official certificate confirming that your document has been professionally proofread by a qualified member of our team at Proof-Reading-Service.com.

This certificate acts as formal verification for publishers, journals, and academic institutions that the language, grammar, and overall readability of your text have been thoroughly reviewed and corrected by a professional proofreader.

Social Sciences Proofreading Services

Strong writing is essential in the social sciences, but even excellent work requires careful proofreading before submission. Most researchers simply do not have the time—or the distance from their own text—to spot errors, inconsistencies, or formatting issues. Our specialist social sciences proofreaders provide precise, publication-focused editing that supports authors without altering their academic voice.

What Our Service Includes

Clients submit their manuscript electronically, usually as a Word document. The proofreader then makes all corrections directly in the file, ensuring accurate grammar, spelling, punctuation, and overall consistency. Formatting elements such as headings, citations, notes, and reference lists are checked against journal or publisher guidelines. When no style guide is supplied, we edit according to the dominant style already present in the document.

Guidance and Support

Where helpful, proofreaders explain complex edits or recommend optional improvements to phrasing, clarity, structure, or tone. We can also assist authors responding to reviewer feedback by clarifying comments and helping implement required revisions.

What You Receive

Each client receives two files: a clean version with all edits applied and a tracked version showing every change, accompanied by margin comments where explanations or suggestions are provided.

Why Choose Us

Our proofreaders are native English speakers with postgraduate training across a wide range of social science fields. All work is confidential, competitively priced, and backed by our satisfaction guarantee.
